Way of the Hunt Year 2

Dawn Stars

 

This 8 weekend intensive is to further the learning journey you are on.  During year one we dove into the foundational skills for connecting with the Hunt in a multifaceted way.  In Year 2 we will add to the bundle of what we are learning by reinforcing prior lessons, opening up other dimensions in connecting to the hunt, and teaching what we have learned in the past to Year 1 participants.  There will be a mix of self-directed learning including long term homework assignments, learning with other instructors, working together as a group, and being in service to new participants. Important Notes:

  • This is a rigorous program, both physically and in terms of your input. Be prepared for long hikes, cold/wet weather and early mornings.
  • Homework will include 5+ hours of your time per month
  • This is not a state sponsored Hunter Safety Course. There is no certification associated with this program
  • There will be NO actual hunting during the program
  • Registration is for the entire program only

Dates: 8 Weekends
           Saturday, 9am-4pm
           Sunday, Sunrise - early afternoon
           These times are general and are subject to change on certain weekends

March 16-17 - Intro to the hunt, awareness training, tracking, setting intentions, shed hunting
April 20-21 - Natural History of Deer, Trailing, and everything Turkey
May 4-5 - Ties that Bind
July 20-21 - Outdoor Cooking & Food preservation
Sept 21-22 - Making Tools
Oct 5-6 - Scouting and setting up hunting locations
Nov 16-17 - Using the whole deer
Dec 14-15 - Wrapping the bundle

Tuition: $1120

$100 deposit due with registration. Balance is split between 2 payments, March 16th & July 20th
